The Palm Deira is the final part of renowned real estate developer Al Nakheel's "Palm Trilogy". The Palm Trilogy consists of Palm Jumeirah, Palm Jebel Ali, and Palm Deira. The palm islands are located in the United Arab Emirates on the Deira coastal area. Palm Deira spans 8.7 miles (14 kilometers) in length and 5.3 miles (8.5 kilometers) in width and has an area of 861 million square miles (80 square kilometers).

Each of the three man-made Palm Islands are designed on the same general concept; a trunk, a crown (with 41 fronds,) and a crescent island surrounding the impoundment that will act as a sea break wall. The islands will support a number of different needs, one being residential. There will be residential development on each of the 41 Fronds to the tune of 8,000 total units including premier villas, grand villas, and vista town homes. The remaining development space will be used to house marinas, sports facilities, shopping malls, restaurants, theaters, theme parks, and much more.

The Palm Islands, being the self-claimed "Eighth wonder of the World", were developed with intentions of keeping Dubai a premium tourist destination. All aspects of the Palm Islands concentrate on improvements to residents, investors, and the environment in a number of ways.  MORE on Palm Deira.
